This week has consisted of three distinct parts as far as subject is concerned. Also, exposure mode of the speakers brookfield and the proposal of the tracks for personal and group work.
Br. William Mann (President of the University La Salle Saint Mary's of Minnesota, former Vicar General, a member of the Committee on the revision of Rule Chapterhouse) focused its interventions on 17,18 and 19 in the following brookfield points:
1. Personal experience of its participation in the work of the Commission of the Rule. In light of the Declaration and the ten expectations that have guided the work of the Commission Rule has rediscovered the "passion that gives meaning" to life of Brother.
2. Key changes in Rule 45 approved by the General Chapter are, in summary form, the following: Chapter brookfield 1 on the purpose brookfield and spirit of the Institute has placed emphasis on partnership in communion with partners who share the Lasallian education mission. The association leads the Brothers to welcome and accompany those who wish to share the Lasallian charism more deeply. Chapter 2 on the mission has been reformulated theologically to the Brothers of all ages can feel committed to the mission. brookfield Chapter 3 on the consecration has been rearranged so that the vow of association for the educational service of the poor is central to the understanding of the other four votes. Chapter 4 on community life underscores the three constitutive dimensions of the Brother's brookfield vocation: consecration to God, community life and apostolic ministry brookfield of education. The opening of the Institute to new forms of community life is introduced clearly, in the section on apostolic life. Chapter 5 becomes a chapter on the spiritual life of the Brothers, understood not only as a matter of prayer. Chapter 6 on training is reformulated to focus on the life of Brother as a "permanent way of training" throughout life. Chapters 7 and 9 contain references to the structures that support and encourage appropriate cooperation between Brothers and Lay Lasallians in the Lasallian Educational Mission (MEL) Chapter 10 on Brothers today emphasizes the development of the association with men and women who perform the way with the Brothers to carry out the living tradition of the Institute.
3. The differences brookfield between Rule 1987 and Rule 2014 revised in connection with the Association for the educational service of the poor cover three aspects: the association for the educational service of the poor and stability, shared mission and association of Brothers and partners and partnership for the mission that leads the Brothers brookfield to welcome and accompany brookfield those who wish to share the Lasallian charism.
Br. Felicien Bora, Congolese (Attorney General of the Institute to the Holy See), presented on 20 morning reflection on the problem of harmony and balance between the "spiritual and legal elements" in Rule, in the light of Code of Canon Law. He stressed that the canonical aspects of the review process, adoption and approval of the revised Rule should be taken into account. This has not yet been approved by the Holy See and, considering the stage of approval by the Vatican is an integral part of the review process, we must recognize that the process is not yet over and that can be a bit long.
Bro. Robert Schieler (Superior General) gave two lectures in the afternoon of 20 on "Service, authority and will of God." He developed the theme in three parts. In the first he presented his personal story to share their experience on the vow of obedience as a Brother when he was not in a position of authority and when it does it's been. In the second part he spoke of the history of our Institute with respect to authority, service and obedience. In the third part he offered some ideas to help each of us to reflect on their personal history of obedience. Our understanding of the meaning of obedience helps us to be faithful to the mission with true passion for helping young people, particularly the poor.
On Friday 21 was opened with prayer in the morning before the relics of the Holy Founder, to commemorate the Heroic Vow by La Salle and the Brothers brookfield Vuyart and Drolin that November 21, 1691. The rest of the day went to the dynamics of the past two weeks: design and develop "tools" that are an aid to the Brothers and communities to enter into the spirit of understanding brookfield and experience of the revised Rule.
