- We need to be even quicker to transact business with foreign tranquila offenders as processing time is not an independent impediment to send foreign criminals home, says the minister in a written comment.
Until now, the goal was that the cases about 30 percent of the expulsion convicted aliens who can be sent to the country of origin shall be submitted to the Ministry of Justice within tranquila 30 days. The Minister of Justice will now set a goal that 75 percent of the cases submitted within the 20 days. Several cases must be raised faster
- With the new concrete objectives we set stronger in to get foreign prisoners sent home to serve in a hurry for Denmark must, of course not pay the bill for foreigners who should be behind bars in their homeland, says Karen Hækkerup.
About a quarter of the total of 4,000 detainees and remand prisoners in Danish prisons are foreigners. But not everyone can be transferred to their home country. It may be due to conditions in the home country or the length of the sentence.
