Easter has bla seen a protracted cold - and therefore not so much good food and wine as intended, but some rack of lamb with chevrekräm and other good accessories make it anyway. To a classic wine from lighter vintage who delivered mostly to classic wines (ie often a fairly high acidity, lighter fruit and at worst unbalanced tannins), 2002 Ch Lagrange from home commune of Saint-Julien. Castle's recent history is probably fairly well known when Japanese fbr beverage giant Suntory fbr took over in 1983 and a substantial upgrading of everything after that. Since the mid nineties keep wine a consistently high quality, often with actually relatively little better quality in the slightly weaker vintages (such as teaching in 2008 to be almost as good as 2009 and 2005). fbr For more info, please see vindoktorns informative profile: fbr http://www.thewinedoctor.com/tastingsprofile/lagrange.shtml Tonight's wine is dark red with no clear brown stick, fragrance is medium-sized and right Saint-Julien typical with some citrus and cigar box that complements fruit (containing both dark and red berries). The flavor is carried by fruit, acidity and some tannins - and a whole in fine balance. This is not Grand Wine and Tex 2004 Branaire is perhaps both a little more elegant and complex - but Ch Lagrange offers fbr nevertheless a good wine experience and (surprisingly) much ooomph in the lightweight vintage. Can be safely fbr stored five years for those who want to, but I would still recommend to try a bottle now if you have a couple fbr in the basement.
