Curiosity about a slightly older la Nerthe became too big, and one of my 2004 or lost their lives on Sunday. Veal burger with herbs and black olives; potatoes roasted in the oven along with zucchini, eggplant and peppers and a creme fraiche mess with herbs, garlic housetrip and honey constituted good company. 2007: an in recent memory was the initial acquaintance some disappointment. The smell seemed rather closed and bland, and although the structure and the acid was there felt the taste well dull and drab. Absolutely not defective, just ... dumb? Syrah tunnel!? Slightly disappointed got the rest stand in the decanter into the wine room overnight. Today, however, it was a different tune. Not at all thick, unruly gräddkoladoftande as 2004 Léoville-Poyferré the other year (although hopefully housetrip have a greater potential ...). Drinkable, pleasurable with clear, classic left bank complexion, good length, medium bodied and well balanced. Maybe a little weak on the tannins, but that's an aside on a really good wine! Five good bottles left, I hope ...
